Plans and Billing
Every successfully generated PDF counts as one document. Invoices and estimates draw from the same monthly allowance. Failed or retried generations do not count, and regenerating an unchanged document is not billed again.
Yes. The Small Business plan is free and includes 25 documents a month, the five built-in themes, PDF download and print. No card is needed to install.
Yes. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You are not charged until the trial ends and you can cancel at any time during the trial at no cost.
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade at any time from the Plans page inside the app. Upgrades take effect immediately. A downgrade to a cheaper paid plan applies at the start of the next billing cycle, so your current limits stay until then; choosing the free plan applies at once.
Document generation pauses and the app shows an upgrade prompt. Nothing is lost: existing PDFs stay available. You can upgrade instantly to keep generating. You are warned in the app and by email when you reach 75% of your limit.
No. The count resets on your billing anniversary each month.
Select the free plan on the Plans page and confirm. The paid subscription is cancelled immediately with no further charges, and your documents and templates are kept.
Using the App
Yes. Settings → Automation → Invoice with the trigger 'order paid' and the action 'send' emails the PDF the moment Shopify records the payment. Add conditions if only some orders should get one, for example a wholesale tag. Customers can also fetch the invoice themselves from the download link in the order confirmation email.
No. The actions live in the Shopify admin and in the app, and the Download Invoice block is added in the checkout editor without code. The only optional snippet is for stores still on classic customer accounts that want a download link on the account's order page.
Yes. Settings → Document Numbering offers two modes: a gap-free sequence ({seq}) or a number derived from the order ({order_number} or {order_name}), each with your own prefix and date tokens, for example INV-{order_number}.
Not yet. Today it produces invoices for orders and estimates for draft orders. The template engine is built for more document types, and they will be added as separate templates when they ship.
Open the order in your Shopify admin and use Print → Invoice, or More actions → Send Invoice / Download Invoice. Inside the app, the Orders page lists every order with Print, Email and Download actions, and each order's page can generate the PDF.
Yes. Select up to 25 orders on the Orders page in the app or in your Shopify admin and use Send Invoices, Print Invoices or Download Invoices. In the app a bulk send runs in the background with a progress list; the admin bulk action reports a summary when it finishes. Bulk downloads arrive as one ZIP.
When you click Send, the app generates the PDF and emails it to the customer's address on file. Delivery, bounces and complaints are tracked, and bouncing addresses are listed under Settings → Email so you can act on them. Email sending needs the Medium Business plan or higher.
Yes. On every plan you can open a built-in theme's preview to change its colours, fonts, every heading and column label, and the text it prints (terms, validity, payment terms, notes and footer lines). The Medium Business plan and above unlock the full Template Editor, a no-code visual editor plus a Liquid, HTML and CSS code editor, on a copy of the theme.
Go to Settings → Automation and, per document type, choose a trigger (for invoices: order created, paid, fulfilled or edited; for estimates: draft order created or edited), an action (send, or generate only) and optional conditions such as tags or the payment gateway. Automation needs the Medium Business plan or higher.
Open Draft Orders in the app, or use the Send Estimate and Download Estimate actions on a draft order in your Shopify admin. Estimates use the Estimate template, carry their own numbering sequence (EST-2026-00001 by default) and show a validity statement and payment terms instead of a payment method. When the draft becomes an order, the estimate and the invoice are linked to each other.
Yes, on every plan, the free one included. Settings → Customer Invoice Download Links gives you a snippet for the order confirmation email, a snippet for the customer account order page, and a Download Invoice block you can place on the Thank You page and in new customer accounts. Customers download the PDF for their order without logging in to anything extra. The links are for invoices only.
Yes, on the Enterprise Plus plan. Ultimate Invoice Printer is a Shopify Flow connector with triggers such as Invoice Generated, Invoice Sent and Invoice Downloaded (and their Estimate twins) and actions such as Send Invoice, Generate Invoice, Get Invoice URL, tagging and metafield updates. A REST API with per-store API keys (documented at /openapi.yaml) and outbound webhooks are included.
Yes. Turn on Show Page Numbers in the template's Footer block. Invoice Details can show the payment date, and the Totals block can show the amount due, which only prints while something is still owed. Line-level discounts show the original unit price struck through next to the discounted one.
Settings, Languages and Tax
Yes. Settings → Email & Delivery shows the DNS records to add for your domain (DKIM and a mail-from domain). Once they verify, emails go out from your sender address; until then they use the app's fallback sender with your sender name.
Store, order and document data are processed only to produce your documents and are stored on Google Cloud in the United States; emails go through Amazon SES. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising, and Shopify's customer data requests and erasures are honoured. The Privacy Policy has the full detail and retention periods.
Twelve: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified) and Arabic, on every plan. On the Large Business plan and above, documents can follow each customer's checkout language or country automatically, and every label can be edited per language from Settings → Languages.
Yes. On Large Business and above, Settings → Languages → Document Labels → Edit Labels changes every heading, column and row label per language, English included, and the wording applies to every template printed in that language. On lower plans the English wording is edited on a built-in theme's preview or in the Template Editor.
Yes. On the Large Business plan and above, documents can print in the currency the customer paid in (presentment currency) with an optional store-currency equivalent row, and the number format follows the currency's convention or a format you pick.
No. Shopify calculates every tax amount; the app only explains the result. The intra-EU B2B notice prints when your EU country is set in Settings → Tax, the buyer is billed in another EU country, a buyer VAT number is present and Shopify charged no tax. It mirrors your Shopify tax setup and cannot correct a store that undercharges VAT.
On Large Business and above you can validate a buyer's VAT number against the EU VIES registry from the order's Tax section. Answers are cached for 30 days and the consultation number is stored on the document's history as proof the check was made. A failed validation only suppresses the reverse-charge notice; it never blocks a document.
Yes. Each store needs its own installation. Subscriptions, templates and settings are independent per store.
Your settings, templates, documents and generated PDFs are deleted when Shopify sends the uninstall and shop-redaction webhooks. See the Privacy Policy for the exact retention rules.
