Built-in themes and the theme preview

Five themes per document type; the preview page changes colours, fonts, labels and block text on any plan without creating a copy.

Updated 2026-10-18

The five themes

  • Horizon: clean two-column header, solid accent bar, modern sans-serif.
  • Slate: monochrome, hairline rules, generous whitespace.
  • Canvas: full-bleed banner, large logo area, tinted summary panels.
  • Ember: warm cream page, bold serif title, rounded table.
  • Nordic: light weights, lowercase title, hairlines throughout.

Each theme exists for invoices and for estimates, so your documents stay consistent.

Opening the preview

  1. Go to Templates and pick the Invoice or Estimate tab.
  2. Click a theme card to open its preview.
  3. Use the panel to change Theme Settings (primary, background, text and table header colours, font, base size, margins, paper size) and Block Text (terms, validity, payment terms, notes heading, signature text, footer notice, and Hide This Block for the optional blocks).
  4. Edit Labels opens the label dialog for every heading, column and row label in the language the preview shows.
  5. Click Publish. On a theme that is not yet active this also sets it active.

Your changes are stored as an overlay on the theme, so the theme itself is never copied and later improvements to it still reach you.

Reset

A theme with saved customisations shows a notice with a Reset link that returns it to the shipped defaults.
